Extrusion results in a solid, seam-less hinge blank with exceptional strength, and thus the extruded hinges have increased lateral and vertical load bearing capacity in comparison to a rolled hinge of the same size. The precision milling and drilling of the extruded hinge knuckle results in an accurate and uniform fit as compared to a rolled hinge.
